So, our old board was just getting hacked too often... and, was too costly to upgrade... so, Badman and I came up with this solution!

It will take some time for me to learn this new system - and to get it completely configured to work the way we're used to.... so, please bear with me as I get this back up to speed.

Vin plate: Which font/font punch set?
Posted by: Verell - 10-21-2019, 04:12 PM - Forum: 308/328 Discussions - Replies (5)

I've had some requests to recommend a font punch set, or at least a font for my new VIN plates.
See: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/thread...te.610660/

Can anyone help with this?

  No directional signal lights
Posted by: Fireman - 08-16-2019, 05:50 PM - Forum: 308/328 Discussions - Replies (10)

I took a ride the other day, put on the directional, no problem. Next turn, no directionals.

I've been trouble shooting it for a couple of days off and on, but no luck.

Here is what I have now. Car is a 1978 308 GTS USA model

1. changed flasher unit-no change
2. changed fuse (old fuse was not blown)
3. cleaned all kinds of connectors
4. hazard switch works-all four corners and dash light flash (My car has a separate flasher just for the hazard light circuit)
5. I do turn on ignition (but not start the engine) to test the directionals
6.I jumped the two flasher terminals (B and L) on the panel but no lights on dash
7. I am using the wiring diagram from my actual owners manual (that seems to be the most accurate, but there are still some color and wire differences)
8. flipped the hazard switch multiple times to insure good internal connections (switch was throughly cleaned several years ago)

I'm assuming that because the hazard light flashes the four corners and dash indicator lights that the bulbs are intact

My next step will be to remove the column switch and check for mechanical damage to the turn signal section. (I'm not expecting any)

Any ideas will help

  Tie Rod Ends
Posted by: Ribman - 05-18-2019, 08:19 PM - Forum: 308/328 Discussions - Replies (3)

Finally got around to getting new tires on my 308. Teenage girl in the Service dept. got the task, we nixed the alignment (for now) because of serious doubts about getting the car up their ramps without hitting the rear sway bars on the incline. While the tires were off, the hubs were checked for 'play' and there's some play in my front hubs. Might need new tie rods, I was told. Quick google search indicated that inner tie rod parts are dirt cheap, but some info that QV tie rods are adjustable and prone to loosening-up over time. Anyone know about this area?
